Why Adoption

The path to starting our family has been a difficult journey.  When we decided it was time to start our family and Katie stopped using her birth control the absence of constant hormones uncovered a problem we never knew she had.  Sometime between when we got married and when we decided to start our family we discovered she had amennorhea.  We waited and waited  for her cycles to start and they never did.  Eventually we started to seek medical help and were referred to a Reproductive Endocrinologist at the University of Utah.

In July of 2012, Katie was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and as anovulatory, which were thought to be related to her amennorhea.  We had hoped that by stabilizing Katie's thyroid, our infertility problems would be solved.  Unfortunately, that was not the case.

It has now been over two years since we began our journey to start our family.  Since then, Katie has  received countless medical procedures and been put on various medications.  After the emotional roller coaster of infertility treatments and two miscarriages we have decided it is time to pursue a different path to starting our family.

We believe that our families were established before we came to this earth and that our loving Heavenly Father has a plan for our family.  Although our children's physical bodies may not come directly from us, we believe that the spirit that resides within their body was meant to be with us, and had to find a different path into our lives.

We are grateful to all those who have been supports for us throughout this journey and are anxiously awaiting the day when we are blessed with a child to expand our family from two to three.
